Ride Ready Guide

What is closed at the Disney parks

Refurbishment and closure trackers for both resorts. We only list what we can support with a source, so an empty tracker means nothing verified rather than nothing closed.

Disneyland Resort

Expected — not yet announced · Checked July 2026

Every item on this tracker is cross-checked against Ride Ready Guide's attraction dataset, which carries the status field reported here, and nothing appears that our sister site does not carry as closed or under construction. No reopening date is published for any Anaheim item because we could not verify one for any of them, including the Avengers Campus expansion, which Disney has discussed publicly. Routine short-term refurbishments are not tracked.

Disneyland MonorailDisneyland ParkClosed indefinitelynot announcedRide Ready Guide's dataset carries the monorail as closed. We have not seen a return date from Disney and we are not going to estimate one. The practical effect is on transport rather than on rides: plan the walk between Downtown Disney and Tomorrowland, and do not build a Disneyland Hotel day around a monorail hop.
Splash MountainDisneyland ParkPermanently closedNot coming backReplaced by Tiana's Bayou Adventure in the same building, which our sister site carries as open. Listed here only because people still search for it and arrive expecting to find it on a map.
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the RescueDisney California AdventurePermanently closedNot coming backClosed permanently as Hollywood Land is redeveloped for the Avengers Campus expansion. Disney California Adventure has lost a gentle indoor dark ride, which narrows an already short list of attractions suitable for a three-year-old at that park.
The Magic of Disney AnimationDisney California AdventureUnder constructionnot verifiedOur sister site carries this as under construction while Animation Academy, in the same building, remains open. Treat the Animation Building as partly available and check the day's entertainment schedule on arrival rather than planning an afternoon around it.
Avengers Infinity DefenseDisney California AdventureUnder constructionnot verifiedThe larger of the two attractions announced for the Avengers Campus expansion. Disney has discussed this project publicly; we have not verified an opening date against the operator's own materials and will not print one until we can. Do not book dates on the assumption it will be open.
Stark Flight LabDisney California AdventureUnder constructionnot verifiedThe second announced attraction of the Avengers Campus expansion, expected to open with or near the first. As above, no verified opening date exists on this page because we have not confirmed one.

Walt Disney World

Expected — not yet announced · Checked July 2026

Every item on this tracker is cross-checked against Ride Ready Guide's attraction dataset, which carries the status field reported here, and nothing appears on this page that our sister site does not carry as closed or under construction. Reopening timings are our reading of what Disney has said publicly; none is presented as an announced date, and the one item with no verifiable year is labelled as unannounced rather than estimated. Routine short-term refurbishments are not tracked.

Rivers of AmericaMagic KingdomPermanently closedNot coming backDrained permanently as part of Magic Kingdom's western expansion work. Nothing returns to this waterway, and the two attractions that used it are closed with it. If you are planning around a Magic Kingdom map more than a year old, Frontierland and Liberty Square are the areas that have changed.
Liberty Belle RiverboatMagic KingdomPermanently closedNot coming backClosed with the Rivers of America. This was one of the few genuine sit-down rest attractions at Magic Kingdom, and its loss changes how a long day with small children or limited mobility should be paced.
Tom Sawyer IslandMagic KingdomPermanently closedNot coming backClosed with the Rivers of America that reached it. Magic Kingdom now has no free-roaming outdoor play area, which is worth knowing if you were counting on it as the afternoon release valve for a five-year-old.
Muppet*Vision 3DDisney's Hollywood StudiosPermanently closedNot coming backClosed permanently to clear the Grand Avenue area for redevelopment. Hollywood Studios has lost an air-conditioned seated show in a park that is short of them, which matters most between June and September.
DINOSAURDisney's Animal KingdomPermanently closedNot coming backClosed permanently for the Tropical Americas redevelopment of the former DinoLand. Its replacement is the Indiana Jones attraction listed below, in the same building footprint.
It's Tough to Be a BugDisney's Animal KingdomPermanently closedNot coming backThe show is gone; the theater beneath the Tree of Life is not. Ride Ready Guide carries the Tree of Life Theater as open with different programming, so treat this as a change of show rather than a lost venue.
Indiana Jones Adventure (Tropical Americas)Disney's Animal KingdomUnder construction2027The headline attraction of the Tropical Americas land replacing DinoLand. Disney has spoken about a 2027 opening publicly; we have not verified a date and are not going to print one. Treat 2027 as the earliest a trip could be planned around it, not as a commitment.
Pueblo Esperanza Carousel (Tropical Americas)Disney's Animal KingdomUnder constructionwith the Tropical Americas landA family spinner for the new land, expected to open alongside it rather than separately. Animal Kingdom has been short of young-child attractions since the DinoLand closures and this is the replacement for that gap.
Encanto Ride-Through (Tropical Americas)Disney's Animal KingdomUnder constructionafter the Indiana Jones attraction, no year givenAnnounced as part of Tropical Americas but sequenced behind the Indiana Jones attraction. No opening year has been given that we can verify, so this is the one item on the tracker we would not plan any trip around.
