Tom Sawyer Island Closed — permanently Closed with the Rivers of America that reached it. Magic Kingdom now has no free-roaming outdoor play area, which is worth knowing if you were counting on it as the afternoon release valve for a five-year-old.

Rivers of America Closed — permanently Drained permanently as part of Magic Kingdom's western expansion work. Nothing returns to this waterway, and the two attractions that used it are closed with it. If you are planning around a Magic Kingdom map more than a year old, Frontierland and Liberty Square are the areas that have changed.
