Closed permanently as Hollywood Land is redeveloped for the Avengers Campus expansion. Disney California Adventure has lost a gentle indoor dark ride, which narrows an already short list of attractions suitable for a three-year-old at that park.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Closed permanently on January 2 2017. The building and drop system were rebuilt and reopened in May 2017 as Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!. The Twilight Zone version will not return to this park.
California Screamin'
Closed
Closed permanently in January 2018. The same track and launch system reopened in June 2018 as Incredicoaster, with new theming, tunnels, show scenes and audio. The coaster layout is unchanged.
It's Tough to Be a Bug!
Closed
Closed permanently on March 19 2018 along with the rest of a bug's land, to clear the site for Avengers Campus. The Disney's Animal Kingdom version in Florida has also since been replaced. This show will not return to California Adventure.
Mickey's Fun Wheel
Closed
Retired as a name and theme in 2018 during the Pixar Pier conversion. The wheel itself never closed permanently — it operates today as Pixar Pal-A-Round with the same swinging and non-swinging gondolas.
Maliboomer
Closed
Closed permanently on September 7 2010 and dismantled as part of the park's first major overhaul. The three towers were removed from the Paradise Pier skyline entirely and nothing replaced them on the site.
Superstar Limo
Closed
Closed permanently on January 11 2002, less than a year after the park opened. The building was rebuilt as Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!, which itself closed in early 2026 for the Avatar project.
