This is a genuine Ghirardelli operation rather than a Disney approximation, and it has survived every retheme of this district since the park opened. The counter does hot fudge sundaes, shakes, floats and espresso drinks, and the shop side sells chocolate by the bar and by the bag.
The hot fudge is made on site and it is the differentiator — thick, dark, and applied in a quantity that would be embarrassing anywhere else. A sundae here is comfortably enough for two people.
The interior is air conditioned with real tables, which puts it in a very short list at this park. On an August afternoon that is worth as much as the ice cream.
