What it is

Docking Bay 7 is built inside a hangar with a full-size cargo transport parked in the middle of it, and the conceit is that a travelling chef has set up a kitchen in the back of the ship. The dining rooms are large, indoors and air conditioned, which alone puts it ahead of most of the park.

The menu is the interesting part. Disney deliberately avoided recognizable names, so dishes arrive under invented labels and you have to read the description to work out that one is fried chicken with mashed potatoes and another is a plant-based meatball dish. That works better than it sounds: the cooking is more adventurous than standard park quick service, with real spice and unusual pairings.

The plant-based kefta dish is the one to order and is genuinely one of the best vegan entrees at Walt Disney World. The fried chicken is the safe choice for a table that includes children.

Our verdict

The most interesting quick-service food at Hollywood Studios and worth eating even if you do not care about Star Wars. Book a mobile order slot early or you will not get in.

What to order

The dishes this kitchen is actually known for. Menus change seasonally, so treat this as what to look for rather than a guaranteed list.

  • Smoked Kaadu ribs
  • Blue bantha cookie
  • Batuu breakfast plate

Tips for Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

  • Mobile order well in advance. Windows inside Galaxy's Edge sell out by mid-morning on busy days and there is no walk-up alternative of the same size in the land.
  • The plant-based dish is the standout and is ordered by a fraction of guests. It is not a compromise option.
  • The dining rooms extend further back than they appear from the ordering area; walk past the first room to find seats when it looks full.
  • Breakfast here is served early and is the quietest meal of the day in this land, which makes it a good rope-drop base.
  • Repeat visitors: menu items here rotate more often than at other quick-service counters in the park, and several original opening dishes are no longer offered.

Felucian Garden Spread

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

$16.49

Plant-based kefta meatballs over herbed hummus with pita and a dressed cucumber and tomato salad, properly spiced rather than mildly seasoned.

Our take: One of the best vegan entrees at Walt Disney World and better than most of the meat dishes around it. Order it even if you eat meat; almost nobody does and they are wrong.

Do not leave without it Savory VeganPlant based

Fried Endorian Tip-Yip

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

$15.99

Fried chicken with roasted vegetable mash and a green herb sauce, hiding under a deliberately unfamiliar name that puts off a lot of cautious eaters.

Our take: Solid fried chicken and the safe order for a child or a nervous adult. Good, not memorable, and outclassed by the plant-based dish on the same menu.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo: common questions

Do you need a mobile order for Docking Bay 7?

Effectively yes. Mobile order is the primary way in and slots for popular times sell out by mid-morning on busy days. Book your window as soon as you enter the park.

What should you order at Docking Bay 7?

The plant-based kefta and hummus dish is the standout and one of the better vegan entrees anywhere at Walt Disney World. The fried chicken plate is the reliable choice for children and cautious eaters.

Is the food actually good or just themed?

Genuinely good, and more ambitious than the burger-and-chicken counters elsewhere in the park. The invented dish names hide fairly conventional food underneath, but the spicing and the sides are a clear step up.

Is there indoor seating?

Yes, several connected air-conditioned rooms plus outdoor tables. It is the largest indoor seating area inside Galaxy's Edge and the best refuge in the land on a hot afternoon.
