What it is

Via Napoli is a large, loud, tiled room at the back of the Italy pavilion built around three wood-burning ovens, each with a face on it representing an Italian volcano — Vesuvius, Etna and Stromboli. The dough is made in house, the water is treated to approximate Naples, and the pizzas come out blistered and correctly floppy in the middle.

The pizza is the reason to come and it is genuinely good — not good-for-a-theme-park, good. The margherita and the quattro formaggi are the reference orders. The carbonara pizza with a soft egg is the one to get if you want to be surprised.

Everything else on the menu is fine and beside the point. Pasta here costs as much as pizza and is not close to as good. Order the pizza.

Our verdict

The best pizza at Walt Disney World and one of the few World Showcase restaurants where the food, not the room, is the reason to book.

Tips for Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria

  • Order the large pizza for a group rather than individuals. The large is enormous and works out cheaper per person, and a table of four eats better for less.
  • Ask to sit in the main room with a view of the ovens rather than in the side rooms. Watching the pizzaiolo work is half the entertainment and the side rooms have none of it.
  • The gluten-free crust here is one of the better ones at Walt Disney World and is made to order rather than reheated from frozen.
  • The outdoor patio is quieter than the main room and is genuinely pleasant in cooler months, which is the opposite of most World Showcase advice.
  • Skip the pasta. It is the same price as pizza and the kitchen is not built for it — every regular will tell you the same thing.

Our take: The best pizza at Walt Disney World, full stop. Order the large for a group and it becomes the best value table-service food in the park.

Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria: common questions

Is the pizza at Via Napoli actually good?

Yes, genuinely. Wood-fired Neapolitan-style crust made in house, cooked in three real wood ovens. It is the strongest single dish at EPCOT and outclasses every other pizza on Disney property.

How big is a large pizza at Via Napoli?

Large enough for three or four adults. Ordering one large for a group is meaningfully cheaper per person than ordering individual pizzas, and the leftovers are the same quality cold.

Does Via Napoli have gluten-free pizza?

Yes, and it is one of the better gluten-free crusts on property, made to order. Flag it when booking and again with your server.

How is Via Napoli different from Tutto Italia?

Same pavilion, same operator, different rooms. Via Napoli is loud, big, family-oriented and pizza-focused. Tutto Italia is quieter, more formal, and built around pasta and entrees.
