Yak and Yeti is operated by Landry's rather than Disney, and it is the park's second full-service restaurant. The building is dressed as a Nepalese family home converted into a hotel and restaurant, and the interior is filled with roughly 2,000 genuine artifacts sourced across Asia - carved doors, hand-painted panels, brassware, textiles. Ask for a table upstairs and look at what is on the walls.
The cooking is pan-Asian and better than it needs to be: honey chicken, lo mein, seared miso salmon, tempura shrimp, curries, and a fried wonton dessert with pineapple and cream cheese that regulars order first and eat last. It is not authentic to any one cuisine and does not pretend to be.
It is also the only sit-down meal in the park with air conditioning, a full bar and a reasonable chance of a same-day reservation, which makes it the practical answer for a lot of families.
Better food than a theme park needs and a room genuinely worth sitting in, at prices that are high but not absurd. The most reliable good meal at Animal Kingdom if Tiffins is out of budget or booked.
