Rainforest Cafe sits at the Animal Kingdom entrance with doors both inside and outside the turnstiles, which is its single most useful feature: you can eat here without a park ticket, and you can leave the park for dinner and come back. It is a chain, operated by an outside company rather than Disney, and the menu is chain food - big salads, burgers, pastas, fajitas, ribs.
The room is the show. Animatronic elephants and gorillas, a thunderstorm that rolls through every twenty minutes or so with lightning and rain sounds, a giant aquarium, dense fake foliage and constant animal noise. Children under eight generally think it is the best restaurant they have ever been to. Anyone with sensory sensitivity should not go in.
The food is fine and the prices are considerably higher than the same food would cost at a chain outside a theme park. That is the trade you are making.
Overpriced chain food in a room children love and adults tolerate. Its one genuine advantage is the outside entrance, which makes it useful for a meal before park opening or after you have left - not for spending an hour of your park day.

Our take: Overrated and enormous. It genuinely feeds four, the brownie is ordinary, and you are paying for the sparkler and the scene. Order one for a table of six or none at all.
